HOW I REBOOT MY MOTIVATION WITH THE HELP OF AN AI ASSISTANT

The path of a solo game developer can be very lonely. Sometimes, people want to quit because their motivation fades day by day; I have faced this problem myself. My previous solution was to take a break and do something completely different, such as drawing an image unrelated to my current game project. However, now that AI is capturing the world's attention, I have found a new approach to help me reboost my motivation: creating songs with AI.
I am not a music composer and have no prior knowledge of that field. However, my other favorite activities include karaoke, playing video games, and watching TV shows. When I combine these interests with the help of an AI assistant, I can create the songs I want—something I could never have imagined doing before. Even with AI assistance, I still cannot do it effortlessly; it sounds easy, but there are many attempts and failures before the final product is born. Experimentation and improvement are requirements in every production cycle, even when the outcome is intended primarily for personal satisfaction.
I felt so excited while working with AI to create my own songs. Hearing them reboosted my motivation and made me want to draw, program, and continue creating my game. It made me feel proud of myself, though I acknowledge that this is a temporary emotion. My musical skills are not comparable to those of a professional composer, even those who do not use AI. Personally, I understand how professionals feel when they see AI-generated "slop" spreading everywhere; it is similar to the feeling of seeing someone litter in the environment.
We cannot deny that AI is gradually erasing many boundaries. To some, it is an intimidating competitor in the labor market. On the contrary, it is opening new horizons for creative and curious minds to explore new skills. AI is a powerful tool, but it has a negative effect when humans become too dependent on it and lose the drive to work hard to improve their own skills. It creates an illusion of a new superpower, making users think they can reach their targets without effort.
In reality, the opposite is true. The hype will eventually fade, and those who truly love their jobs are the ones who will keep going and become experts in their fields. Personally, I hope to continue developing games until I am in my 80s or 90s, and I hope financial pressure will not push me onto a different path.
I am currently developing my third game, Ancestral Fury. If you have read this far, I think you might be interested in what I am doing. Please wishlist the game; I truly hope you will enjoy it when I release it on Steam. Thank you!
